What to know
Kamogawa Seaworld is a large aquarium located on the Boso Peninsula, facing the Pacific Ocean. It houses around 11,000 sea creatures across three themed zones: Eco Aquaroam, Tropical Island, and Rocky World, each designed to mimic natural habitats. Regular shows take place in three outdoor stadiums and an underwater theater.
The aquarium boasts several unique features. The Eco Aquaroam uses wave generators in its tanks to replicate river conditions around the Boso Peninsula. Tropical Island, home to the largest indoor tank, simulates a coral reef where visitors can feel like they are diving among tropical fish. An interactive area lets guests paint a digital fish and watch it swim on a large screen.
Popular live performances feature killer whales (orcas), beluga whales, dolphins, and sea lions. Shows start every half hour at different stadiums, making it easy to move from one to the next. The largest venue is the Ocean Stadium, where killer whale performances are held.
Visitors can also watch scheduled animal feedings and enjoy close-up encounters like feeding, touching, or taking photos with marine animals. These interactions have limited spots and require additional fees.
