What to know
Daisetsuzan (大雪山) is Hokkaido's largest national park, protecting a vast mountainous wilderness larger than some of Japan's smaller prefectures. It's a paradise for hikers, outdoor enthusiasts, deer, and brown bears, and is the first place in Japan to see fall colors and snow each autumn.
