What to know
Opened in 2008, Akasaka Sacas (赤坂サカス) is a city within a city in Tokyo. Following the success of Fuji Television at Odaiba, Nippon Television at Shiodome, and TV Asahi at Roppongi Hills, TBS (Tokyo Broadcasting System) also integrated its headquarters into this urban complex.
Sacas comprises several buildings, including the TBS headquarters, a high-rise residence, a 39-story office building called Biz Tower, and the ACT Theater, which hosts Broadway-style shows of international acclaim.
Most of Sacas' shopping and dining options are on the lower floors of Biz Tower. While there are fewer choices compared to other city-within-a-city complexes, there is still a good variety of quality international cuisine. Fans of Japanese TV can find interesting souvenirs at the TBS shop.
Akasaka Sacas is directly connected to Akasaka Station on the Chiyoda Subway Line.
Take the Marunouchi Subway Line to Kokkaigijido-mae Station (7 minutes) and transfer to the Chiyoda Subway Line for Akasaka (2 minutes). The one-way fare is 180 yen.
