AnimeJapan

AnimeJapan (formerly Tokyo International Anime Fair) is a major anime convention held at Tokyo Big Sight, with the 2027 edition moving to INTEX Osaka.

What to know

AnimeJapan 2027 is scheduled for March 27–28 in Osaka!

AnimeJapan, formerly the Tokyo International Anime Fair, is an annual trade show held at Odaiba's Tokyo Big Sight convention center (though the 2027 edition will take place at INTEX Osaka in Osaka). It is the premier event for the Japanese animation industry and one of the largest animation-related gatherings worldwide. The convention attracts hundreds of Japanese and international TV and film production companies, as well as toy, game, and software developers.

Most of the floor space at Tokyo Big Sight is dedicated to exhibition booths from Japanese production companies like Toei Animation, Bandai Namco, and Tezuka Productions, alongside international firms. Larger booths feature their own theaters and stages, hosting live shows and special appearances by anime and manga creators, as well as voice actors.

Various performances, interviews, and announcements take place at the event stages, some requiring reservations. A dedicated cosplay area encourages visitors to show off their costumes. Other attractions include anime-themed workshops, seminars, merchandise shops, and a food park.

AnimeJapan is usually held in Tokyo, but in 2027 it will be at INTEX Osaka in Osaka.

Tokyo Big Sight is located on Odaiba, just steps from Tokyo Big Sight Station on the Yurikamome Line or a five-minute walk from Kokusai-Tenjijo Station on the Rinkai Line.
