What to know
Midland Square is Nagoya's tallest building, located directly opposite Nagoya Station. The 247-meter skyscraper opened in 2007, adding to the growing cluster of high-rises around the city center. The basement and first four floors house numerous shops, chic boutiques, restaurants, and cafes, while a cinema occupies the 5th floor.
The main tourist draw is the Sky Promenade, an open-air observation deck spanning the top three floors of the 46-story building. It offers panoramic views of Nagoya, including landmarks such as the JR Central Towers, Nagoya Castle, and Nagoya Port. Several fine-dining restaurants on the 41st and 42nd floors serve Japanese and international cuisine, with tables offering stunning aerial city views.
Midland Square stands opposite Nagoya Station.
