What to know
Mihama American Village (アメリカンビレッジ) is a sprawling entertainment complex in central Okinawa Honto. The area is home to many American military bases, and the complex's nostalgic Americana theme offers a familiar comfort for base residents and a fun escape for locals. It feels like a large American outdoor shopping mall, packed with shops, restaurants, and a big parking lot.
The Americana vibe is everywhere, from fashion boutiques selling American brand clothing to diners serving hot dogs and hamburgers. The Mihama 7 Plex movie theater shows both American and Japanese films. A short walk along the waterfront leads to Sunset Beach, a great spot to watch the sunset and a popular barbecue location. The village's Ferris wheel closed in 2022.
Mihama American Village is located in central Okinawa Honto, about 15 kilometers north of Naha.
Take bus number 20, 28, 29, or 120 from Naha Bus Terminal to Mihama American Village Iriguchi (美浜アメリカンビレッジ入口, 40 minutes, 840 yen, frequent departures) or Kuwae (桑江) bus stop.
