Visitor guide for the Osaka Science Museum

What to know

The Osaka Science Museum (大阪市立科学館, Ōsaka Shiritsu Kagakukan) on Nakanoshima Island features four floors of hands-on exhibits. Designed with children in mind, the museum guides visitors through displays on the universe, chemistry, electricity, and energy.

A science show is held several times daily (in Japanese only). In addition to the exhibits, the museum houses a planetarium with hourly shows. A separate admission fee is required for the planetarium.

The Osaka Science Museum is located on Nakanoshima Island, right next to the National Museum of Art, Osaka. Take the Yotsubashi Subway Line to Higobashi Station, from which the museum is a 5-10 minute walk. Nakanoshima Station on the Keihan Nakanoshima Line is even closer.
