Todoroki Valley

Visitor guide for Todoroki Valley, a city park in Tokyo with a temple.

What to know

Todoroki Valley Park (等々力渓谷公園, Todoroki Keikoku Kōen) is one of Tokyo's most unique green spaces. Nestled in the heart of the densely populated Setagaya ward, it offers an attractive walking trail that winds for about one kilometer through a narrow, wooded valley along a small river. The walk takes approximately 20 to 30 minutes.

Along the trail, you'll find several points of interest, including a couple of bridges and ancient tomb remains. At the far end of the valley stands Todoroki Fudo, an atmospheric temple. Across the river, there is also a small Japanese garden with free admission.

Todoroki Valley is just a few steps from Todoroki Station on the Tokyu Oimachi Line (20 minutes, 230 yen from Shibuya).
