What to know
Local wine has been produced in Furano since 1972. Perched on a hill overlooking the town, the Furano Winery (富良野ワイン工場, Furano Wine Kōjō) welcomes visitors with free wine tastings. Nearby, the Restaurant Winehouse serves Western dishes paired with the winery's wines. A small lavender field also graces the hillside.
The winery and grape juice factory are a ten-minute drive or taxi ride north of central Furano. There is no public transportation available.
