What to know
Snow Town Yeti is a compact ski resort located on the southern slopes of Mount Fuji. It stands out as one of only two ski areas on the mountain (the other being Fujiten) and is known for being among the first in Japan to open each season, typically from mid to late October using artificial snow.
The resort features three lifts, including two that run parallel, and four slopes. The two main runs are each about 1000 meters long and ideal for beginners and snowboarders. The shorter 500-meter runs are steeper and narrower, and they close during night skiing. There is also a small terrain park with jumps and rails, plus a separate snow play area for children, sledding, and novice skiers. Snow cannons supplement natural snowfall, which can be unreliable.
During the ski season, infrequent buses run to Snow Town Yeti from Gotemba Station (60–75 minutes, 1570 yen one way), Mishima Station (70–80 minutes, 1830 yen one way), and Fuji Station (90 minutes, 1870 yen one way). Discounted set tickets combining round-trip bus fare and a 1-day lift pass are available.
Car rental outlets are located near Mishima, Gotemba, and Fuji stations. Snow tires and winter driving skills are essential for accessing the resort in winter conditions.
