Kids Ninja Village

Visitor guide for the Kids Ninja Village in Nagano, a small theme park with ninja related attractions

What to know

The Kids Ninja Village (チビッ子忍者村, Chibiko Ninja Mura) is a small theme park with ninja attractions located on Mount Togakushi in Nagano City, the legendary home of the Togakure Ninja School. Set in a forest, the park features obstacle courses and jungle gyms where visitors can pretend to undergo ninja training.

Despite its name, the Kids Ninja Village also has attractions that appeal to some adults, though grown-up tourists generally find the nearby Togakure Ninpo Museum more interesting. Many popular attractions require a separate fee, including blow dart and throwing star shooting, as well as two ninja mansions with labyrinths, trapdoors, and contraptions. One mansion has a room that uses optical illusions to trick the mind into seeing the extraordinary.

Express tourist buses run every hour between Nagano Station, the Kids Ninja Village, and the Togakushi shrines. To reach the ninja village, get off at the Togakushi-Chusha bus stop (戸隠中社, 55 minutes, 2000 yen one way). Seat reservations should be made in advance online or at the Alpico Bus ticket office at Nagano Station, though it is possible to board without a reservation if there are vacant seats.

A separate bus operates hourly between the ninja village and the shrines for 400 yen per ride.
