Flower Park Kagoshima

Visitor guide for Flower Park Kagoshima, a spacious park with a variety of tropical and subtropical plants.

What to know

Flower Park Kagoshima (フラワーパークかごしま) is situated near the southern tip of the Satsuma Peninsula, about one kilometer north of Cape Nagasakibana. This spacious and attractive park features around half a million plants from over 2,400 different species. Alongside typical local flowers, you'll find tropical varieties from regions such as Brazil, Australia, and South Africa.

The park stretches roughly 500 meters along the coast, and walking from one end to the other and back covers about three kilometers of trails. A free shuttle bus loops through the park every 50 minutes, except for a break around noon. For 500 yen per hour, you can also rent a cart to explore at your own pace.

The park displays a wide variety of flowers both indoors and outdoors. There are also impressive lookout points offering coastal views and a refreshing ocean breeze.

Buses from Ibusuki Station to Flower Park Kagoshima run infrequently (40 minutes, 620 yen, every 2 hours until mid-afternoon). These buses are bound for Ikedako (Lake Ikeda) and also stop at Yamakawa Station, Healthy Land, and Cape Nagasakibana.
