The Satsuma Peninsula (薩摩半島, Satsuma Hantō) stretches roughly 50 kilometers south from Kagoshima City, forming the southwestern part of Kagoshima Prefecture. Named after the former Satsuma domain (which covered much of today's Kagoshima Prefecture), this peninsula offers a blend of hot springs, subtropical natural wonders, and cultural attractions.
